Indian P.M. To Focus on Trade During Visit to the U.S.

Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh begins his four-day visit to the U.S. with an address to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. During the visit, P.M. Singh will focus on trade and investment, as well as climate change and security issues. Tomorrow night, Pres. Obama will host his first White House state dinner for P.M. Singh.

"For the Cure" Founder Opposes New Breast Cancer Guidelines

Cancer activist Ambassador Nancy Brinker does not support the recently updated guidelines recommending against self-examinations and annual mammograms for women in their forties. The founding chair of Susan G. Komen for the Cure and a breast cancer survivor, Amb. Brinker will discuss the need for improved screening methods during her talk at the National Press Club.

As the United Nations Climate Change conference in Copenhagen approaches, Bread for the World Institute is releasing its 2010 Hunger Report. Stressing the role "green jobs" could play in reducing hunger and meeting the challenges of climate change, the report also makes the case for U.S. leadership in reducing poverty around the world.
