C-SPAN’s Book TV is LIVE today from the 2011 Chicago Tribune Printers Row Lit Fest at the University Center in downtown Chicago.
This weekend’s festival featured panel discussions and author interviews. The event is considered the largest free outdoor literary event in the Midwest with seven stages featuring more than 100 literary programs.
Book TV sat down for interviews with authors John Sayles, “A Moment in the Sun;” Carrie Pitzulo, “Bachelors and Bunnies: The Sexual Politics of Playboy;” Cuban-American author Oscar Hijuelos, “Thoughts Without Cigarettes: A Memoir;” Kim Barker, “The Taliban Shuffle: Strange Days in Afghanistan and Pakistan.”
The festival also held a panel discussion with Laura Caldwell on her book “Long Way Home: A Young Man Lost in the System and the Two Women Who Found Him,” as well as Jovan Mosley, who is the subject of the book, and Leigh Bienen.
