Senate Passes $50+ Billion Superstorm Sandy Bill

Washington, DC
Monday, January 28, 2013

The Senate passed H.R. 152, the Disaster Relief Appropriations Act on Monday by a vote of 62 to 36. The bill, which passed the House earlier this month, provides $50.7 billion in aid to states affected by Superstorm Sandy.

H.R. 152 will now go to the President for his signature.

The Senators voted down an amendment offered by Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) to offset the cost of the act.
