92nd Annual American Legion National Convention

The American Legion held its annual national convention, which coincides with the formal drawdown of U.S. troops in Iraq. House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) gave an address criticizing the president's policies and thanking the troops for their service in Iraq. Secretary of Defense Robert Gates and Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric Shinseki gave remarks on the Obama administration's response to national security issues and its future involvement in Iraq. Other speakers included House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and members of Congress.
