Defense Department policy in the next presidential term will be “all about the budget” according to a panel of defense policy scholars at the Brookings Institution on Monday.
The panelists agreed that sequestration is the major issue facing any president in the next term.
Brookings’ Michael O’Hanlon and Center on Strategic & Budgetary Assessments’ Todd Harrison compared the similarities and differences in defense policies of President Obama and Republican Nominee Romney.
Senior Fellow Peter W. Singer, director of the 21st Century Defense Initiative, moderated the discussion.
