Americans for Tax Reform Hold Tax Day Event

Washington, DC
Monday, April 16, 2012

The nonprofit lobbying organization advocates for a "simpler, flatter, more visible and lower" tax code and is against tax increases. It was founded in 1985 by Grover Norquist with support from President Ronald Reagan.

U.S. income taxes are due on April 15.  Because the 15th falls on a Sunday this year, and because Monday, April 16, is a holiday in Washington, D.C., taxes can be filed as late as Tuesday, April 17.

The news conference will feature Congressman Dave Camp (R-MI), Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, and Congressman Mike Pompeo (R-KS).

Grover Norquist and speakers from The Heritage Foundation, FreedomWorks, and the National Taxpayers Union will also attend.
