Aspen Institute Hosts Debate on Manufacturing and Trade

Washington, DC
Friday, October 19, 2012

The Conference on the Renaissance of American Manufacturing and the Aspen Institute will be host a debate on manufacturing and related trade issues.

Former Principal Economic Adviser to Vice President Joseph Biden Jared Bernstein will discuss the issues with Former Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade Grant Aldonas, who currently co-chairs Governor Mitt Romney's working group on foreign assistance.

They will likely answer questions on China trade issues, the burden of regulation on manufacturers, whether the U.S. should provide big subsidies to manufacturers and whether new Free Trade Agreement discussions should be initiated.

Former New York Times Editor Hedrick Smith will moderate.
