Prior to his current position, Assistant Secretary of State Campbell was the CEO and co-founder of the Center for a New American Security and served as the director of the Aspen Strategy Group at the Aspen Institute. He has also served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Asia and the Pacific and as Chairman of the Editorial Board of the Washington Quarterly.
