Atty Gen. Holder Promises Fair Review of Trayvon Martin Case

Attorney General Eric Holder spoke at the annual convention of the National Action Network, the civil rights organization founded by Rev. Al Sharpton. He promised a fair and independent review of the Trayvon Martin case, plus legal action if warranted.

Atty. Gen. Holder spoke at the annual convention of the National Action Network (NAN), the civil rights organization founded by Rev. Al Sharpton.

Following Holder's remarks, a panel of legal experts discussed the state of the criminal justice system in the U.S. today.

Speakers addressed the shooting death of Trayvon Martin in Florida, as well as a recent Tulsa shooting, where three African Americans were shot to death.  The group also took audience questions.

The panel, moderated by NAN General Counsel and Executive Vice President Michael Hardy, included Harvard Law Professors Christi Cunningham and Dr. Charles Ogletree, ACLU Director of the Washington Legislative Office Laura Murphy and Vice President of The Fortune Society Glenn Martin.
