Accountability Review Board Chairman Ambassador Tom Pickering and Vice Chairman Admiral Mike Mullen, held a press briefing at the State Department to review the results of their investigation into the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi. Libya in which Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans were killed.
The Associated Press says the State Department’s security chief and two other officials have resigned in the wake of the report, which found “systemic failures” in Libya.
Earlier on Wednesday Pickering and Mullen briefed members of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee in a closed briefing. On Thursday the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and the House Foreign Affairs Cmte. will both hold open hearings on the State Department response to the investigation.
