Bernanke Tells Lawmakers Economic Recovery "Frustratingly Slow"

Washington, DC
Thursday, February 2, 2012

Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke testified Thursday before the House Budget Committee on the economic outlook for 2012.

During the hearing Chairman Bernanke told the House panel that the economic recovery is "frustratingly slow." He added that the Central Bank is working to protect U.S. from the European crisis.

On Wednesday, the committee heard from the head of the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), which forecast unemployment around 8.9% and slow economic growth through the rest of the year.
