House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) told Capitol Hill reporters Wednesday morning that he and President Obama had spoken Tuesday, but they had not yet agreed on a way to avoid the so-called “fiscal cliff” at the turn of the year.
Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) said that he was committed to keeping the House in session through Christmas Eve and the days leading up to New Year’s until Congress and the President reached an agreement.
