C-SPAN2 continues highlights of the British phone hacking hearings. Tonight, the parents of murder victim Milly Dowler followed by actor Hugh Grant testify before a panel looking into allegations of phone-hacking by newspapers owned by News International.
Earlier this year, British Prime Minister David Cameron appointed Lord Justice Leveson to oversee a committee examining the relationship between the press and celebrities, politicians and the police. According to their website, the committee will make recommendations on the future of press regulation and governance.
Our hightlights tonight include testimony by the parents of Milly Dowler. They re-tell the story of their missing daughter and their false hope in believing their daughter was still alive. They also share how they felt when they first heard that Milly’s voicemail was hacked.
