British Prime Minister David Cameron fielded questions from reporters on the government’s response to phone hacking at the British tabloid “News of the World.” He also commented on his decision to hire communications director Andy Coulson, who has been arrested on allegations of corruption and involvement in phone hacking when he was editor of ‘News of the World.’
Coulson resigned his government post in January. During the 45-minute news conference, the Prime Minister announced that he would establish two public inquiries. One will investigate possible criminal actions, and the other will look at the cultural and ethical issues of the press.
