Brookings Hosts Discussion on U.S.-China Relations

Following the U.S. election and the recent once-in-a-decade transfer of power in China, the Brookings Institution hosted a discussion on Chinese-American relations moving forward.

In the first panel, Jonathan Pollack, Cheng Li and Kenneth G. Lieberthal of the John L. Thornton China Center, and J. Stapleton Roy, Director of the Kissinger Institute on China and the United States at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, discussed the transition of power in China and what can be expected from its new leadership.

In a second panel, Jeffrey A. Bader, the John C. Whitehead Senior Fellow in International Diplomacy at the John L. Thornton China Center; and Jonathan Pollack joined Alan Romberg, a Distinguished Fellow and Director of the East Asia Center and The Henry L. Stimson Center for a dicussion on U.S.-China relations.
