The Western History Association hosts Quintard Taylor for a look at the intersection of twentieth century African American history and the development of cities on the west coast.

Quintard Taylor is a history professor at the University of Washington and his area of focus is African American history and the American west.

In this keynote address, Mr. Taylor examines how factors like community organizing, deindustrialization, housing and employment have shaped the “urban west” and how they reflect changes in American culture.
