Republican Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney announced a new energy plan during a trip to New Mexico, Thursday.
He visited Watson Truck & Supply Co. in Hobbs, N.M., for a campaign speech. According to Milan Simonich of the El Paso Times, Hobbs is an oil-producing town about 5 miles from the Texas border.
President Obama won New Mexico by 14 points in 2008, and is favored to win the state this year. Hobbs is located in Lea County, where Republicans are a significant majority of registered voters. Romney is expected to hold fundraisers in the area later in the day.
