C-SPAN Radio Specials: November 1968 - Vietnam and the Transition to the Nixon White House

August Series

Washington, DC
Saturday, August 27, 2011

C-SPAN Radio concludes this month’s programs of some of President Lyndon Johnson’s 1968 phone calls, from the final release of these conversations by the LBJ Library and Museum in Austin, Texas, and airing for the first time on C-SPAN Radio.

In this program, you’ll hear November 1968 calls about the start of the transition to the Nixon White House, and about LBJ’s suspicions that Nixon associates tried to keep South Vietnam from taking part in the Paris Peace talks on the Vietnam War.  Participants in these calls include President-elect Richard Nixon and some of his senior advisers, and the FBI’s liaison to the White House.
