On C-SPAN Radio’ s historic Supreme Court Oral Argument this week: “On October 3, the U.S. Supreme Court will start hearing oral arguments—including the consolidated case “Douglas v. The Independent Living Center of Southern California”—on whether Medicaid recipients and providers can sue a state for failing to pay the rates required by the Medicaid Act.
A 1990 historic oral argument about Medicaid payments and the states airs Saturday, Oct. 1, at 6 pm ET on C-SPAN Radio: “Virginia Governor Douglas Wilder and others, petitioners v. The Virginia Hospital Association, respondent.” You’ll hear future Chief Justice John Roberts, at the time a U.S. Deputy Solicitor General, arguing for the U.S. supporting Governor Wilder.
