President Obama delivered his State of the Union speech to a joint session of Congress Tuesday night. Telling members of the House and Senate "we will not go back to an economy weakened by outsourcing, bad debt, and phony financial profits" the president laid out his ideas to improve the economy and reduce unemployment.
The president also discussed corporate taxes, education, energy policy, and called on Congress to pass a plan to allow homeowners to refinance their mortgages to take advantage of historically low rates.
He ended his speech by recalling the accomplishments of "Seal Team Six," who are credited with killing Osama bin Laden, saying that they worked together without regard to political affiliation.
