CFPB Director Testifies on Consumer Credit Access

Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Director Richard Cordray testified on consumer credit access issues before the House Oversight and Government Reform Subcommittee on TARP, Financial Services and Bailouts of Public and Private Programs.

Other credit experts participating included: Douglas Fecher, president, Wright-Patt Credit Union, Fairborn, Ohio; Mark A. Calabria, director, Financial Regulation Studies, Cato Institute; Steven I. Zeisel, executive vice president and general counsel, Consumer Bankers Association; and Michael D. Calhoun, president, Center for Responsible Lending.

Rep. Patrick McHenry (R-NC) chaired the hearing and Rep. Mike Quigley (D-IL) served as Ranking Member.
