New Jersey Governor Chris Christie today threw his support behind Mitt Romney in the race for the GOP presidential nomination. The two appeared together at a news conference in Hanover, New Hampshire. Christie, who announced last week he wouldn't run for president, praised Romney for his mix of private and public sector experience, calling him "the best of both worlds."
Romney called Christie a "real hero" for his record of cutting government spending as governor.
The endorsement came hours before many of the Republican candidates were set to debate on the campus of Dartmouth College
