
Commission on Wartime Contracting Hearing on Defense Planning for Contractors

A new report expected to be released by the Wartime Contracting Commission indicates that there is insufficient planning in the transition of reconstruction, logistics, and security functions from the Pentagon to the State Department. Defense Department officials appeard before the panel and faced questions on how the lack of planning may lead to unnecessary spending in hiring new contractors which the State Department may be unable to properly oversee.
