Congressional Leaders Ask: Is the Budget Process Broken?

Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) and Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) briefly discuss Congress's efforts at budget reform during an event hosted by Peterson-Pew Commission on Budget Reform.

Also on the agenda, a panel of experts examine four strategies for restoring the nation's fiscal health, which are included in the Pew-Peterson Commission report Getting Back in the Black..

The commissioners spoke mostly about the budget process and that a better budget would result if Congress altered how it passes its annual spending framework.
