This week on Q&A, writer and self-described conservative Diana West discusses her syndicated online column and her book “The Death of the Grownup.”
West, a former Washington Times reporter, writes about cultural and political issues with themes that include the spread of Islamic law throughout formerly non-Islamic areas of the western world and her opposition to the war in Afghanistan.
She criticizes former General David Petraeus for “fuzzy headed” Iraq policy in 2006 and the effectiveness of the Bush-sanctioned troop surge in 2007.
She also expresses her concern about a wealthy member of the royal family of Saudi Arabia, Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal, owning a large stake in News Corp., the parent company of one of the largest news franchises in the world, Fox News.
West’s weekly column is syndicated by United Media’s Newspaper Enterprise Association, a division of the E.W. Scripps Company and appears in over 100 newspapers nationwide. Her first book, “The Death of the Grownup,” was published in 2008 and she’s currently working on her second book.
