Deputy Attorney General Briefs Reporters on Mortgage Discrimination Settlement

The Justice Department announced that Wells Fargo has agreed to pay $175 million dollars to settle accusations of unfair and discriminatory lending practices to African Americans and Hispanics.  It is the Department’s second largest fair lending settlement.  Deputy Attorney General James Cole briefed reporters on the details of the settlement and was joined by the Assistant Attorney General of the Civil Rights Division and others.
