David McCullough talks about his book, The Greater Journey: Americans in Paris. The book focuses on a group of Americans who spent time living in Paris between 1830 and 1900 to study, work, and further their vocation. By telling their story, McCullough shows the influence of French medicine, culture, art, and politics on the young United States. This is the first part of a two-part interview.
