Federal Reserve Vice Chair Discusses Trans-Atlantic Agenda

Janet Yellen, Vice Chair of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve, was joined at the AFL-CIO by Matthias Machnig, the minister of economy for the German Federal State of Thuringia for a discussion on restoring prosperity and full employment.

President of the AFL-CIO, Richard Trumka, introduced the officials.

Yellen focused primarily on the causes of continued unemployment in the United States and what the Federal Reserve can do to lower the unemployment numbers.

Machnig focused on enviromental and industrial policies and how they affect full employment and prosperity.
