GOP Candidates' Budget Proposals Evaluated

The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget released its report Thursday on the Republican presidential candidates’ economic plans and their impact on the national debt. According to the report, only Ron Paul's plan would have some impact on reducing the debt. Newt Gingrich’s proposals will increase the debt to 114% of GDP. Speakers included former National Deficit Reduction Committee Member Alice Rivlin and former Congressmen Victor Fazio and Bill Frenzel.
