Republican Congressional leadership and GOP presidential candidates are gathering in Washington at the annual Values Voter Summit, a conference focusing on conservative social issues: abortion, sexual orientation and marriage.
The morning session features House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH), House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) and four members of the freshman Congressional class.
The afternoon session includes speeches by GOP presidential candidates Herman Cain and Newt Gingrich.
The conference extends into Saturday, when the results of a straw poll will be announced.
The Family Research Council, which advocates and lobbies on behalf of conservative social policies, is a main sponsor of the event.
