Girl Scouts CEO Celebrates 100 Years of Scouting

Girl Scouts of the USA CEO Anna Maria Chávez spoke at the National Press Club about the 100th anniversary of Girl Scouting.

Chávez discussed her recently launched "ToGetHerThere" program, which promotes equal representation of women in leadership positions.

In June, Girl Scouts from all over the country will celebrate the centennial in Washington, DC, at the  "Rock the Mall" event.

Juliette Gordon Low founded the Girl Scouts of the USA in Savannah, Georgia. in 1912 after meeting the founder of the Boy Scouts. Today, it is the largest organization for girls in the world with more than 3.2 million members.
