Ahead of this weekend's National Governors Association (NGA) meeting, Democratic Governors' Association (DGA) Chairman Gov. Martin O'Malley (D-MD) appeared alongside his counterpart Republican Governors' Association (RGA) Chairman Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R-TX) in a panel discussion earlier today on state budgets and job creation.
During the conversation, which was moderated by POLITICO's Jonathan Martin, the two disagreed on a number of fronts, including the effect of the economic stimulus on the federal deficit, and the health care law.
Late during the DGA’s conference a panel of CEOs and labor leaders discussed how to build a modern and innovative workforce, and spur job creation in the new economy. Governors from both groups are also meeting with President Obama at the White House to discuss job creation.
