Heads of Strategic and Cyber Commands Testify on Budget

The Senate Armed Services Committee held a full Committee Hearing hearing on the FY2013 defense authorization request and the Future Years' Defense Program Tuesday morning.

The hearing focused on the budget for U.S. Strategic Command and U.S. Cyber Command.

Air Force Gen. C. Robert Kehler, Commander of U.S. Strategic Command, and Army Gen. Keith B. Alexander, Commander of U.S. Cyber Command, testified.

Gen. Alexander also serves as Director of the National Security Agency and Chief of Central Security Service.

United States Strategic Command oversees space and information operations, missile defense,  global strike and strategic deterrence and combating weapons of mass destruction.

United States Cyber Command centralizes cyberspace operations, organizes cyber resources and synchronizes defense of U.S. military networks.
