Sunday, December 16, 2012

College of William and Mary history professor Scott Nelson discusses the history of America’s financial panics. He looks at the creation of the First Bank of the United States as the government struggled to deal with a huge debt after the Revolutionary War, and examines the conditions that led to financial panics in 1819, 1837, and 1873. The Virginia Historical Society hosted this event.
