The House Armed Services Subcommittee on Readiness held a hearing on reductions to the Defense Department’s civilian and contractor personnel as a result of impending budget cuts.
Principal Deputy Assistant Defense Secretary for Readiness Frederick Vollrath testified, along with Government Accountability Office Defense Capabilities and Management Issues Director Brenda Farrell.
The hearing examined the impact of cuts that could occur under sequestration and discuss how the Department of Defense manages its workforce requirements.
Rep. Randy Forbes (R-VA) chaired the hearing.
