The House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee holds an oversight hearing on the operation and management of Amtrak on Wednesday.
This is the fourth hearing in the series and focuses on reviewing Amtrak's structural reorganization.
Amtrak began its reorganization with the release of a strategic plan in November 2011. It is expected to be fully implemented by the end of FY 2013.
Witnesses include: Joseph Boardman, president of the National Railroad Passenger Corporation (Amtrak); Ted Alves, Amtrak inspector general; and James Stem, national legislative director of the United Transportation Union- SMART.
Rep. John Mica (R-FL) chairs the hearing and Rep. Nick Rahall II (D-WV) is the committee's ranking member.
