House Committee Marks Up Keystone XL Pipeline Legislation

Washington, DC
Tuesday, February 7, 2012

The House Energy and Commerce Committee voted largely along party lines to advance a bill on the Keystone XL oil pipeline. The legislation would give the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission 30 days to approve the pipeline, taking the decision out of the hands of the White House. House Republican leaders reportedly plan to attach the measure to a larger transportation bill this year. President Obama denied a permit for the project earlier this year.
