Congo was the subject of a hearing held by a House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee.  The war in Congo ended in 2003, but in its aftermath 5.4 million people have died, mostly from disease, starvation & gang violence.  Recently, police in Congo arrested 126 people that allegedly planned last month’s attack around the presidential palace.   Testimony came from State Department officials, and later, actor and activist Ben Affleck as well as Cindy McCain, wife of Senator John McCain (R-AZ).
