House GOP Freshmen Discuss Medicare Independent Payment Advisory Board

Washington, DC
Monday, March 19, 2012

House Republican freshman members held a press conference on Capitol Hill to discuss legislation that aims to repeal the Medicare Independent Payment Advisory Board created under the Obama administration’s Affordable Care Act.

The House Energy and Commerce Committee along with a House Ways and Means subcommittee on health has already approved the bill that would eliminate the 15-person board charged with recommending spending cuts to Medicare.  The U.S. House is expected to take up the legislation by the end of March.
