The House Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism and Homeland Security held a hearing on stopping Internet child pornography and other Internet crimes by requiring Internet service providers to retain and archive information on users. Currently, most Internet providers retain billing and business-related information on the user for short periods of time. This hearing explores whether getting this information will aid in the investigation of internet child pornography and other Internet-related crimes.
Rep. James Sensenbrenner (R-WI) chairs the subcommittee.
