The House Natural Resources Committee focused on a joint report released on the April 2010 Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill at a hearing on Capitol Hill. The findings were released in September and conducted by the U.S. Coast Guard and Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation, and Enforcement.
Testifying before lawmakers were the report’s investigators as well as representatives from BP, Transocean and Halliburton. The Deepwater Horizon oil rig explosion killed 11 men and resulted in the spill of more than four million barrels of crude into the Gulf of Mexico.
