House Oversight Subcommittee Hearing on Impact of GM Bailout

The White House adviser who guided the government’s bailout of General Motors testified before a House Oversight Subcommittee. On the campaign trail, President Obama has cited efforts to rescue General Motors and Chrysler from total liquidation as successful initiatives. According to a panel established by Congress, the government is unlikely to recoup its entire $50 billion dollar investment in GM, in part because of when the government chose to sell a portion of its holdings.
