House Ways and Means Cmte. Studies Retirement Options

Washington, DC
Tuesday, April 17, 2012

The House Ways and Means Committee heard from a panel of experts on the pros and cons of current retirement savings plans. The hearing also discussed possible changes to certain options, as part of comprehensive tax reform.

All those who testified agreed that tax incentives are crucial to employer and employee participation. Judy Miller with the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries, says this is particularly true for small businesses because tax savings factor into whether they’ll provide an option for employees.

Rep. David Camp chairs the committee.
