Pres. Barack Obama and VP Joe Biden were publicly sworn in for their second term today at the U.S. Capitol. Following the swearing-in, the congressional luncheon and the inaugural parade, the President, Vice President and their wives tonight attended inaugural balls.
The President and Vice President were officially sworn in on Sunday, January 20, as mandated by the Constitution in private ceremonies at the Vice President's residence and the White House. Today's public ceremony included musical performances, the inaugural address, and the ceremonial swearing in of the President and Vice President by Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts.
