Governor Mitch Daniels of Indiana (R) talked about his efforts of improving educational options in his home state. Recently, the Indiana Legislature voted in favor of Governor Daniels’ educational changes that intend to overhaul Indiana’s education system. Among them were bills supporting teacher merit pay, collective bargaining restrictions, school vouchers and the expansion of charter schools.
Governor Daniels has also been considering a 2012 presidential run and said he will announce his plans within weeks. The American Enterprise Institute in Washington, DC hosted this discussion.
