The Sunlight Foundation hosts a forum on how independent political groups are affecting this year's elections. Journalists, legal scholars, and federal election officials take part.

The Supreme Court's 2010 "Citizens United" case indirectly helped create these so-called "Super PACs" by allowing unlimited corporate donations to independent political groups with no direct ties to parties or candidates. These groups can then spend an unlimited amount of money in an election.
