Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction John Sopko will speak on challenges facing the U.S. in Afghanistan on Thursday at the Stimson Center in Washington, D.C.
This is his first public speech since taking office in July 2012.
His remarks come the day before President Obama hosts Afghan President Hamid Karzai for a discussion on reconstruction in Afghanistan and troop-level options.
Ambassador Linc Bloomfield, chairman of Stimson’s board, will make introductory remarks.
