Interior Sec. Ken Salazar Briefing on Offshore Drilling Moratorium

The White House announced that it has lifted the moratorium on offshore drilling. The ban was scheduled to last until the end of November. Interior Sec. Ken Salazar briefed the press to further expand on the White House announcement and provided the guidelines for the oil industry to once again drill in the Gulf of Mexico. To begin to drill again, oil companies need to address safety, spill response and blowout containment issues according to Salazar.
