Monday, January 12, 2009
Former Solicitor General Kenneth Starr talked to us about the role of the office and the transition period from one administration to the next. Mr. Starr recounted his time as Solicitor General under President George H.W. Bush. He also talked about the workload of a Solicitor General, how cases are argued during a transition period and offered his thoughts on President-elect Obama’s pick for the job, Elena Kagan. If confirmed, she would be the first woman to serve as Solicitor General.
