Washington, DC
Tuesday, July 3, 2012

Reporters from some of the nation's biggest newspapers and press services offered a behind-the-scenes look at the 2011-12 session of the U.S. Supreme Court. The D.C. Bar Section on Courts, Lawyers and the Administration of Justice hosted the panel discussion.

This term saw historic decisions issued on the Affordable Health Care Act, Arizona's immigration law, a host of first amendment cases and more.

The panel discussed the personalities of the justices and their interactions with each other and then offered their own predictions for the next term.

Speakers included: Robert Barnes, The Washington Post; Joan Biskupic, Thomson Reuters; Jesse Holland, The Associated Press; Adam Liptak, The New York Times; and David Savage, The Los Angeles Times.

Arthur Spitzer, legal director of the Nation’s Capital ACLU, moderated the discussion.
